Once a tree or large shrub has been reduced to ground level, the stump is then left in the ground. Depending on what you want to do with the space, stump grinding is sometimes neccessary to remove the stump or to get it below ground level.
Although tree stumps can sometimes be left in the ground, problems can often arise with new shoots if they are not removed. The stump grinding process involves a heavy durty machine that mechanically grinds the root plate of the tree. Stump grinding creates a lot of saw dust which we can take away for you or you can use as mulch elsewhere in the garden. When having a stump grinded down, you need to decide how deep you would like us to go for you. If you are covering in turf then shallow stump grinding should be sufficient. A deeper stump grind is required if you want to landscape the area or replant the ground afterwards.
